WORKSHOP ON ”ORGANIZATION OF EDUCATIONAL PROGRAMS IN MUSEUMS”
MAY 11-13, 2016, YEREVAN
Museum Education Center in partnership with the Cafesjian Center for the Arts organized 3-day workshop on “Organization of Educational Programs in Museums” in Yerevan for museum specialists in Armenia from 11-13 May 2016. The workshop ran by Alvard Grigoryan, Director of the History Museum of the Armenian State Pedagogical University, expert in Museum Education and Astghik Marabyan, Director for Education of the Cafesjian Center for the Art. Alvard Grigoryan and Astghik Marabyan are co-authors of the Methodological Handbook Education in Museums, published in 2016.
The workshop aimed to introduce participants with basic steps of organization of educational programs, targeting the audience particularly children and adults mainly based on Armenian experience. More than 25 specialists from 7 regional museums and museums from Yerevan were taking part in 3-day workshop organized in the Cafesjian Center for the Arts.
Participant museums were selected based on application process which we implemented first time to select from many of the received applications.
Theory and practice, discussions and debates, answers and questions as well as group works were accompanying the whole process of the workshop. As a part of the workshop participants visited Russian Art Museum in order to participate in educational program.
In the end of the workshop each group represented its own educational program developed during 3 days.
The workshop organized by the initiative of Museum Education Center in cooperation with the Cafesjian Center for the Arts, Association of Museum Workers and Friends and DVV International Country Office in Armenia.
